Most modern households can hardly keep up with the housework. This is especially true of households with both couples who are working. These double income households cannot handle all the chores because the husband and wife are both out working somewhere to make a living. In these instances, having kids compound the problems. If a couple has only one or two kids, then these children can be left in the care of nearby relatives. If the couple can afford it, they can also drop their kids in a day care centre on their way to work and pick them up on their way home after work. Either way, this kind of situation hardly leaves any time to do anything else upon arriving at the house. Both of them could by now be really tired and not clean the house or wash clothes or do the dishes anymore.
A busy lifestyle like the one I had just described above calls for some extra domestic help. Since both couples are working, their combined income can afford them the services of domestic helps. Hiring domestic helpers is a way out of reducing the stress of managing both careers and household at the same time. House maids can be hired from domestic service agencies that can provide just such kind of labour services. The work of maids could be limited to only certain few tasks such as cooking, washing clothes and ironing. Others are more comprehensive in that they render other services in addition to the ones I mentioned earlier. These types of house maids demand a higher pay since they will do all the work needed in a house. Some households hire maids as nannies and limit them to only watching the kids and not do anything else. It is very tiring to be caring for small kids who need every-minute attention.
